The Time Machine – Klaus Badelt

Album: The Time Machine

Artist: Klaus Badelt

Released: 2002

Description: A highly melodic, diverse, and exciting adventure score. The film, an adaptation on the H.G. Wells novel, might not have been adored by all, but Badelt’s score certainly should be. The first half of the score follows a light-hearted tone with a standard orchestra, using instrumentation common to dramas. It is when Guy Pearce’s character, Alexander Hartdegen, travels 80,000 years into the future that the score becomes exotic and primal. Great for fiction that takes place in unusual locales or contain a literal call to adventure. And plenty of trouble and eventual victory, of course.
