Mother Falcon is a large ensemble chamber-rock band from Austin, Texas. They’re known for their collaborative songwriting and it’s clear in their music that each member of the band loves what they’re playing as they’ve all added ingredients to the pie, so to speak. The instruments used are strings, horns, guitars, and percussion, which are led by lively vocals. This is rare music, creating incredible songs for the modern listener using instruments normally found in a music hall. I think after hearing “Marigold”, the first song on the album, you’ll understand what’s so great about their music. It’s upbeat, catchy, and being performed by talented musicians on acoustic instruments, devoid of electronics.
