I have a particular love for rain; I love that it gives me an excuse to stay inside and how it puts me in a creative mood, possibly because the tapping on my window reinforces my feeling that, though I should stay inside I should still be productive, or perhaps it’s because of old movies where writers are click-clacking on their typewriters as a storm blows over their windows and I hold some romantic image of myself doing the very same thing. Either way, I write better when I can listen to the sound of rain outside my window. Without the will over nature, however, I am only afforded these opportunities few and far between.
But alas, I give you Rainy Mood, a website that plays the sound of a rain so that a rain storm is just a website address away. They even have music that you can play while listening to rain. It’s pretty great, and while writing this I listened to Arvo Pärt accompanied by a rainstorm.
Two cheers also to rain for watering my lawn so that I don’t have to.
