John Williams did for the Harry Potter franchise the same he did for Star Wars: created a household identity with his music. The primary melody, played on glockenspiel, is instantly recognizable and immediately conjures something magical in your imagination. For his third and final entry on the films, John Williams created new and exciting music on top of his existing musical canon. Particular favorites of mine are “The Knight Bus” and “Buckbeak’s Flight”. There’s plenty to enjoy in this soundtrack, especially for fans of the books and movies, and as there is never a dull moment in Williams’ composition, it is a great album for travelling.
